Beautifully hand carved and painted wood sculptures of southwestern birds. Each bird is unique with highly detailed features, mounted on natural weathered driftwood secured to a solid walnut base. Sculpted from a solid block of Basswood, with glass eyes and legs built up from copper or brass wire, the carvings are finished with high quality acrylic paints to bring out the natural colors of the bird's plumage. Ground dwelling birds will have some gravel and blades of grass added to the base. A brass nameplate and felt bottom add to the quality of the sculpture.
